Wind Energy

Wind Energy

Wind energy works by wind turbines using moving air to turn blades that drive an electric generator inside. Wind energy is a renewable way to harness electrical energy because wind will continue to blow as long as the sun continues to shine. Wind farms (groups of wind turbines) can generate large amounts of electricity without polluting the air. But along with all of these advantages there are a couple of disadvantages as well. First of all, you can harness wind energy in places with no wind, so it would only work in places with large amounts of wind. The equipment can also be very expensive, and not many people can afford it. The blades can also be hazardous to unwitting birds in the sky.
